Learn the foundational skills to model in 3D. In this course you’ll learn all the essentials to get up and running in 3D. You’ll discover the Cinema 4D way of thinking, which has a different bias to that of other modelling apps.
This course is for… anyone who wants to create models in Cinema 4D, whether you’re an architect, an interior designer, a yacht designer, or product designer. Cinema 4D has an incredibly powerful and flexible toolset that can work for absolutely anyone.
For Vectorworks users: The modelling tools of Cinema 4D have quite an overlap with Vectorworks. If you’ve already taken the Vectorworks 3D Essentials course or further, we recommend you use look at our Cinema 4D courses beyond this one and use Cinema 4D for it’s more advanced rendering and animation.
At the end of the day… you’ll have a solid foundation in the essentials of modelling. It takes months to become super-advanced at modelling, but this course equips you with the tools to accelerate that journey. You’ll be confident in the basics of modelling as well as a few more advanced techniques as well.
Foundational skills in lighting, cameras & stills rendering. Once the model is created the elements of this day's course are needed to complete a rendering. A good visual needs good materials, good lighting and composition to succeed. This day covers all these elements.
Pre-requisites: This course requires Modelling Essentials knowledge.
Who’s this course for? Anyone who wants to create a photo-realistic visual from their model. Additionally, you can also use the Sketch & Toon feature to create different artistic styles.
At the end of the day… you’ll be able to create a photo-realistic visual of good quality. The art of rendering is a journey that takes years to perfect. This course will give you all the foundational skills to kickstart your journey of perfecting your craft.
First, we’ll import a model. Your model could come from Cinema 4D, Vectorworks or another modelling app. We’ll then go through these three areas:
Learn how to animate. This course will teach you how to set up and create animations in Cinema 4D, especially for those who want to visualise their designs. You’ll also get an introduction to camera tracking, matching real footage with your model inside of it.
Pre-requisites: This course requires Modelling Essentials and Visual Essentials knowledge.
Who is this for? This is not a course isn’t for the type of character animation you see in Pixar films. This is for designers who wish to show off their designs. However, the course will certainly cover moving objects and parts, like opening doors or cars driving by.
At the end of the day… you’ll be able to create a walkthrough movie, where the camera flies around your scene, with moving objects and parts animating. You’ll also be able to create panoramic movies (from the inside looking out) and object movies (from the outside, where you can spin the object on it’s axis).

Lights, camera and action for your Vectorworks model. A specifically designed Cinema 4D course for Vectorworks users. This course covers the content of the Visual Essentials and Animation Essentials courses, tailored for Vectorworks users, covering the essentials of lighting, textures, cameras, animation, and rendering in Cinema 4D.
